No time wasted with Ellgia
Ellgia is a commercial waste management company in the East of England. It has seen significant growth in turnover, from 0 to £18 million in just three years since launch.
The waste management industry is a highly competitive marketplace and the challenge lay in getting a local business’ voice heard amongst the noise of larger international companies. To take its business to the next level and continue to grow and expand across more sites and areas, Ellgia recognised the need for extensive regional PR activity.
With this in mind, Mobas, the strategic marketing agency in Cambridge, was approached due to its extensive regional expertise to deliver a PR campaign based in Cambridgeshire, specifically targeting the Ely area.
Beginning with a thorough research phase conducted by Mobas, the campaign was launched alongside Ellgia’s new Food Waste Service. Mobas raised the profile of the business through using the Managing Director as a spokesperson in order to position them as a flourishing local enterprise.
Two miniature campaigns ran in partnership with East Cambs County Council (ECCC): Pumpkin Pledge to promote food recycling, and Christmas Card to highlight the importance of recycling card and raise money for Ely Foodbank.
Ellgia received numerous pieces of coverage in the regional press, as well as a BBC Radio Cambridgeshire interview and feature. This gave them a potential reach of 500,000.
As part of its wider campaign to boost local awareness and recognition, Mobas recommended and developed award entries for the Ely Business Awards 2015. Ellgia won four awards: Best Customer Service, Best Medium Sized Company, Business Person of the Year, and Business of the Year.
