The festive season is an ideal time for reflection and as we look back at 2019, there have been so many causes for celebration for Mobas, the team and critically the clients we partner with. Robin Bryant, Founder and Joint Managing Director shares his take on the year and how it has given Mobas strong foundations to grow further as we welcome in the start of the new decade.

Three years ago, we fundamentally shifted our positioning. We moved away from offering pure marketing services and instead began working at a higher strategic level in partnership with business leaders, allowing us to deliver new and transformative programmes that have unlocked measurable success and growth for our clients.

True strategy now drives everything we do at Mobas. It allows us to unleash engaging, motivating creative work that makes great things happen. We love what we do, and we’re very particular about building mutually enjoyable and rewarding client relationships. This year has seen us truly live out these values and the shift we have made to our proposition has really resonated with those we work with. As a result, 2019 has been our most successful year to date in relation to turnover, profitability, new business acquisition, team development and, most importantly for us, growth and success for our clients.

We are hugely proud of the partnerships we’ve forged with our clients. We have always championed long-term relationships and this has continued in 2019 with us further developing our partnerships with Greene King, Saville Group, Countryside Properties, NHS Blood and Transplant and Accor Hotels, many of whom have worked with us for more than a decade.

Our new proposition has proved compelling to others and this year has seen us grow our client list as we welcomed more than 30 new brands to our roster. These new clients have selected us based on our strategic approach and commitment to delivering success and true business change. We continue to operate with business across multiple sectors and are proud to now list the likes of The Royal Society of Chemistry, Ombudsman Services, Cambridge University, Dalcour Maclaren, Accora, The S&A Group and Cordic to name but a few as clients.

Our commitment to excellence can only be achieved thanks to our leading team. We invested significantly in developing our people through training and development, internal promotion and the appointment of senior hires across the business. Adam Tuckwell was promoted to Commercial Director and now sits on the board; Lorna Hopkins was promoted to Head of Client Services and Greg Bryant was promoted to Lead Creative. To further strengthen the team, we also welcomed George Hadfield as Head of Digital, Claire Durrant as Head of Social Media, Carl Banks as Social Media Account Manager, Emily Hutson as Senior Account Manager, Tom Bennett as Web Developer and Leah as PR Account Manager.

As ever, we are continually mindful of our place in the community, and 2019 has seen us continue to provide both practical and financial support to those near us and in need. This year, our Mobas Giving Initiative has supported numerous national campaigns including Comic Relief, Macmillan and the Poppy Appeal. At a regional level, we have also supported local primary schools, sports teams and warden schemes to give back to the community surrounding our Cambridge head office.

Having achieved great success, both for ourselves and through the campaigns we’ve delivered for our clients, we are wholly committed to furthering our programme in 2020 and beyond. In practical terms, this will see us offering new complementary services, such as business modelling with Dudley Haigh, to aid those undertaking business and brand transformation and appoint more expertise to bolster our team and offering.

Doing things well is not enough for us and never has been. We strive to transform our client’s businesses through insight, strategic thinking and astonishing creativity. If you are looking to drive business growth through a genuine partnership, then I believe Mobas is the perfect partner for you. We are always happy to talk through the impact we make for our clients and learn more about how we might be able to help you transform your business.
