Building a high performing digital experience for Meet Cambridge

Client and context

Meet Cambridge is the official conference and events bureau for the University of Cambridge. The organisation works with Colleges, venues and partners to attract national and international events to the city. To support this mission, Meet Cambridge partnered with Mobas, education marketing specialists to deliver a refreshed digital platform that showcased the breadth of venues and simplified the process for event organisers.

Challenge

Meet Cambridge needed to:

  • create an online experience that reflected the quality of Cambridge venues
  • improve navigation and enable users to find suitable spaces quickly
  • strengthen the brand narrative and highlight key differentiators
  • build a scalable digital platform for future venue and content updates.

Approach

Mobas conducted workshops and discovery sessions with key stakeholders to understand audience needs, event organiser behaviours and the unique strengths of Cambridge venues. We redefined the information architecture and prioritised clarity, ease of use and strong visual representation. Content was refined to present venue information in a clear, concise and compelling manner.

Impact

  • A more intuitive and attractive digital experience for event organisers.
  • Increased engagement and enquiries from the target audience.
  • Clearer communication of venue strengths and services.
  • Stronger alignment between digital presence and organisational ambition.

Solution

We delivered:

A set of Meet Cambridge business cards arranged on a surface, featuring brand colours and the line “Venues in and around the city.”
A Meet Cambridge website mockup showing a search tool for finding event venues and a photo of historic Cambridge buildings beneath leafy trees.
A Meet Cambridge website mockup featuring a scenic river view with a punt gliding beneath a stone bridge.

Why it worked

The programme succeeded because Mobas brought together strategic clarity, UX expertise and strong content structure. By focusing on the needs of event organisers, we created a digital experience that is both inspiring and practical.
