Mobas appointed digital agency for Downing College

The Cambridge-based strategic marketing agency, Mobas, has been appointed by Downing College, Cambridge, to design and develop Downing’s new Conferences and Events website. The new website will showcase the excellent facilities the College has to offer and is set to launch early Summer 2017.

Following a detailed agency review and pitch process, Mobas was selected for this exciting and prestigious project based on their user centred approach to project planning and scoping.

Downing College, ideally located, is based in the centre of Cambridge and is set amidst 20 acres of lawns and trees. It’s steeped in history, with distinctive buildings and first-class facilities. It offers unique experiences to Global clients looking for conference, meetings and weddings facilities.

Jacqui Cressey, Head of Conference Services at Downing College, says: “With more and more existing and potential clients contacting us through the Conferences & Functions website, we recognise how central this is to increasing our business. We require a responsive and visually attractive website to improve customer experience. We chose Mobas as they quickly understood our vision for how the re-launched website should look and function, and we were impressed with their solid track record and collaborative approach to working with their clients. ”

Jon Parsons, Head of Digital at Mobas, says: “We are delighted to have been appointed as their digital agency. Our approach is different from that of many other agencies. We always place the audience at the centre of our scoping process, which ultimately makes for a more engaging website that in turn delivers to the clients KPI’s and objectives.”

Mobas’ comprehensive scoping process involves a series of meetings and workshops to engage its development team, project and account managers in getting its clients to identify and describe their key audiences, existing and new, their expectations, numbers, values key user stories and information requirements. Mobas likes to work together with clients and their real customers in capturing key user stories.

As we approach World Cup year in 2026, the branding, ball and other assets have now been released so we are starting to get a feel for how it will look.

But, it’s not just the visuals of the branding and sponsors which shape how the tournament feels, but also the kits.

This time, as expected, the majority of kits will be Adidas or Nike manufactured, with a few others in the mix. But I want to spend some time focusing on Adidas.

They’ve made a subtle change to their template, which I expect to start seeing across all of their club kits too in the 26/27 season. It’s so subtle you may not notice, or you may notice a difference but not be able to put your finger on it.
In fact, it’s a change that I’m surprised hasn’t happened sooner.

If this sparked a rethink with your brand, imagine what we could achieve together.
